This year, Light Safari takes you millions of years back in time — from the very beginning of our planet, through the mighty age of the dinosaurs and the icy tundras of the Ice Age, past the rich cultures of the Greeks and Romans, through the mystical Middle Ages… to a glimpse of an unimaginable future.

Wander through 14 eras, each revealing how nature and animals played a leading role in the story of our Earth. Be enchanted by dazzling light artworks and enjoy the cosy atmosphere in the squares, where the scent of hot chocolate and freshly baked treats fills the air. Warm your hands by the crackling campfire and end your evening surrounded by nature, history, and light.

During Light Safari, you follow a route through the Safaripark — this route can only be explored on foot. It is not possible to do a car, bus, or boat safari during Light Safari.

Along the way, you’ll encounter impressive illuminated sculptures in the shapes of animals, flowers, and plants. The route is divided into different eras, taking you on a journey through time. Behind every bend lies a new period full of nature and culture. Along the path, you’ll find food stands offering delicious winter treats.
