A zoo in Maashorst?
Absolutely! Dierenpark ZiE-ZOO in Volkel, municipality of Maashorst, is a real ZOO, not just any ZOO! It’s a unique zoo with animals you won’t easily find elsewhere. It’s also the only “care zoo” in the Netherlands.

A CareZOO, largely run by people with autism, thanks to a collaboration with the Regional Autism Center.

Zie-Zoopia is the new app for your smartphone. Through Zie-Zoopia, you can learn more about the animals at Dierenpark ZiE-ZOO, including the animals and their natural habitats, or biotopes.

Biodiversity - the variety of plant and animal species - is what Dierenpark ZiE-ZOO aims to showcase. In addition to species diversity, biodiversity also includes the various biotopes where these species live. Within Dierenpark ZiE-ZOO, the animals are divided into five biotopes: forest, mountain, grass, sand, and water. Through the Zie-Zoopia app, you can learn all about them. Use your smartphone to visit www.ziezoopia.nl, install the app, and embark on an adventure by scanning QR codes throughout the park (note: the app is not available in the App Store).
