Admire Young Animals Up Close
At Apenheul, visitors literally step into the world of monkeys. It is a unique experience to come face to face with more than 30 monkey species. Even the young animals can be admired up close, like the three ring-tailed lemurs that were born this week!

On the Apenboompad, where visitors walk among the treetops, even more young animals can be seen. A pair of emperor tamarins—tiny monkeys recognizable by their striking white mustaches—recently had twins. Fun fact: even the babies are born with their characteristic mustaches!

Last week, a douroucouli was also born. These nocturnal monkeys share their habitat with sloths in the nighttime enclosure along the Apenboompad.

Gorilla Baby Mizani Is Thriving
Gorilla baby Mizani, born in October last year, is also doing very well. Visitors can spot her during the gorilla feeding presentations, alongside her group led by silverback Banjoko. What makes Apenheul even more special is that there is a second gorilla group living on a separate island, meaning visitors get to observe two different groups of gorillas—an extraordinary experience!

Revamped Madagascar Area
In the newly renovated Madagascar area, visitors can walk freely among more than 30 lemurs. The area is home to eight different species, including ring-tailed lemurs and red ruffed lemurs. This winter, four new red ruffed lemurs joined the group.

Visitors are encouraged to engage all their senses to learn more about these fascinating primates and their natural habitat on the island of Madagascar. With a free discovery map, they can also explore the rest of the park and find over 300 other monkeys.

Unique Activities for an Unforgettable Day
Apenheul offers many special activities to make every visit truly memorable. Guests can practice yoga among the monkeys, take a guided tour, enjoy a delicious breakfast before the park opens, or even spend a day shadowing an animal caretaker. Anything is possible at Apenheul!
